Privacy Notice

How this website and the Master Kahara Macharia campaign handle personal information, in line with the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019.

Who is responsible

This website is operated by the Master Kahara Macharia campaign for Member of Parliament, Thika Town Constituency (the "campaign"). For any privacy question or request, contact the campaign through the channels on the contact page.

What this website collects

This website has no accounts, no tracking pixels, no analytics scripts and no third-party advertising. It does not set cookies. The web server that hosts it keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address, time and page requested) for security and troubleshooting, retained only as long as the hosting provider's standard practice requires.

What you choose to send

When you contact the campaign by WhatsApp, phone, or social media, you choose what to send, and you keep your own copy. The campaign uses what you send only to respond to you, to organise volunteering you have asked for, or to record a constituency issue you have reported. The campaign does not sell personal information and does not share it with third parties except where the law requires.

M-Pesa contributions

Contributions via Lipa Na M-Pesa are processed by Safaricom under its own terms. The campaign receives the transaction details M-Pesa provides (name, number, amount) and uses them solely for campaign finance records and legal compliance.

Photographs and video

Event photographs and broadcast clips on this website show public engagements. Broadcast material remains the copyright of the stations credited. If you appear in an image on this site and want it removed, contact the campaign and it will be reviewed promptly and in good faith.

Your rights

Under the Data Protection Act, 2019 you have the right to be informed about how your data is used, to access it, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact the campaign. You may also complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC).

Children

This website is not directed at children and the campaign does not knowingly collect children's data.
