This is a contract, not a wish list. Five pillars. Ten numbered commitments. Each one states the problem, the commitment, and exactly how you will measure Master Kahara Macharia if you hire him as your MP.
First, an Honest Word
What a Member of Parliament actually does
A Member of Parliament does four things under our Constitution: makes laws, oversees the Executive on your behalf, represents your voice in the National Assembly, and manages the NG-CDF for the constituency.
An MP does not tarmac roads with his own hands and does not employ people into government jobs. Any candidate who promises those things directly is not being honest with you.
What a serious MP does is legislate, allocate, push, question, publish and account. That is precisely what this manifesto commits to, and every promise below is written within the real powers of the office.

Pillar 01 · Education for Every Child
1. Bursaries that reach the needy, not the connected
- The problem
- Bursary allocation in Kenya is too often opaque, late and political.
- The commitment
- An open NG-CDF bursary system with published criteria, a public application window, SMS confirmation of receipt, and a published list of beneficiary schools and amounts every term.
- How you measure him
- The bursary register will be public on this website every term, shilling by shilling.
2. Classrooms, laboratories and sanitation worth learning in
- The problem
- Several public schools in the constituency still teach in crowded or dilapidated rooms.
- The commitment
- NG-CDF infrastructure money directed to a published priority list of school projects agreed in open forums with parents and boards of management, plus a champion's push for vocational and technical training so every young person who does not follow the university path still has a skill that pays.

- Every funded project carries a public signboard with its cost and completion date, matched by a project page on this website.
Pillar 02 · Jobs and Opportunity for the Youth
3. The Thika Youth Skills and Innovation Programme
- The problem
- Thika is an industrial town where too many industrial jobs pass our own young people by.
- The commitment
- A constituency programme linking young people to certified technical training, digital and online work skills, and apprenticeships negotiated directly with the industries operating in and around Thika.
- How you measure him
- A published annual count of young people placed in training and apprenticeships.
4. Backing youth and women owned business
- The problem
- Small traders and start-ups die for lack of capital, market access and fair treatment.
- The commitment
- Training, financial literacy, linkage to affordable credit and to the government procurement share reserved by law for youth, women and persons with disabilities, and a fight for market traders to work in dignity, not harassment.
- How you measure him
- Quarterly open forums with trader and boda boda associations, with minutes published.
5. Talent as a livelihood
- The problem
- Sports and creative talent in Thika dies in childhood for lack of support.

- Constituency leagues, talent academies and creative industry initiatives as genuine pathways to income, not campaign season photo opportunities.

Pillar 03 · Infrastructure That Works
6. Roads, drainage and safe streets
- The problem
- Neglected feeder roads, flooding whenever it rains, dark streets and dangerous crossings. Thika's markets flooded in 2024 and traders counted the losses.
- The commitment
- Pressure on the national roads agencies and the county, in writing and in public, for rehabilitation of neglected roads and drainage, proper street lighting in vulnerable areas, and pedestrian safety. Where NG-CDF can lawfully act, such as security lighting, it will.

7. Water and a clean Thika

- Our public health facilities are overstretched, and mothers and children carry the heaviest burden.

- Parliament's budget and oversight powers put to work for better equipped public health facilities serving Thika Town, improved maternal and child healthcare, reliable access to essential medicines, and strong community health awareness programmes.

Pillar 05 · Accountability and Real Representation
9. Every shilling in the open
- The problem
- Public money loses its way between Nairobi and the ward.
- The commitment
- NG-CDF allocations, project budgets and progress reports published regularly. Public participation forums in every ward. An open constituency office with published hours. A public channel for residents to report stalled or poorly implemented projects.
- How you measure him

10. A full-time voice in Parliament
- The problem
- A constituency this important cannot afford a silent seat.
- The commitment
- Sitting, speaking and voting on the issues that decide your cost of living, your rights and Thika's share of national resources. Bringing Thika's industrial agenda to the national floor: policies that attract investors, support local industries, promote value addition and open procurement to local businesses, while defending the interests of Thika residents.
